The ALE-test system (Aeration and liquid exchange test system) for compression testing – with possibility to exchange liquid and air – at temperatures up to 200 °C.
The ALE-test system includes a control box with up to 6 rigs.
When testing stress relaxation in fuels and oils the liquid may be ageing faster than the rubber, so the liquid has to be replaced at intervals. The testing is traditionally done in a closed container without oxygen present and this does not correlate with the actual situation in a fuel tank or a motor.
To make it possible to perform more realistic ageing tests we have developed a system where the liquid is replaced with a pump at specified intervals. Air is added via another pump. A propeller on the rig stirs the air and the liquid, for an even distribution in the container. The rate of liquid exchange and air can be programmed from the PLC on the control box.
The ALE control box, EB 02.24-x, handles both the liquid circulation, air pump and the stirrer function of the ALE-rig, EB 02ALE. All of these parameters are controlled from the PLC on the control box. x = number of rigs that can be connected to the control box, available in sizes; 2, 4 or 6 rigs per box.
The system works together with the relaxation cell ovens EB 21, EB 22, EB 23 and the programmable temperature cell ovens EB 17 and EB 23LTP.
