Testing methods that Elastocon offers

Here we will continuously present some of the testing methods offered in Elastocon's laboratory. We describe the methods in a concise text and show the procedure in a short video. If you would like a more detailed review, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

ISO 188 – Accelerated ageing on rubbers and elastomers

Rubber materials can be tested with accelerated ageing to investigate natural ageing in a shorter time. Heat resistance focus on investigating the rubber performance for the intended application. This video describes the methodology of testing rubber according to ISO 188.

ISO 812 – Determination of low-temperature brittleness

Determination of low-temperature brittleness on rubber materials according to ISO 812 is a very important test method for materials to be used in colder climates.

ISO 815-1, method A – Determination of compression set

Determination of the compression set is an easy way to analyse the recovery after compression of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers according to ISO 815-1, method A.

ISO 1432 – Determination of low-temperature stiffening (Gehman test)

This video shows how simple it is to determine low temperature stiffness with a Gehman test according to ISO 1432.

ISO 2921 – Determination of low-temperature retraction (TR test)

This video shows how low temperature retraction (TR) is determined according to ISO 2921 and ASTM D1329.
