Determination of low-temperature brittleness on rubber materials according to ISO 812 is a very important test method for materials to be used in colder climates.
The purpose of the brittleness test is to find the lowest temperature where the rubber or plastic material will not exhibit brittle failure, or the temperature where 50 % of the test pieces exhibit failure.
Elastocon is now accredited to test low-temperature brittleness according to ISO 812 in our testing laboratory.
Here you can watch a video of the brittleness test on rubber according to ISO 812 performed with Elastocon's brittleness tester ET 05-II.
